Soft Glow, Strong Design

We explored the balance of form and function to bring architecture to the bathroom, creating new forms and shapes for taps. Like the subtle glow of moonlight, the Alya collection balances beautiful aesthetics with practical comfort.

Thin Spout, Big Energy

There is an opposition, a tension, that Ayla carries. The design presents simple masculine shapes, but the details reveal a delicacy that brings in a sense of softness. We were able to create an unusually thin horizontal spout and incorporate chamfered edges, both of which complement the wider vertical faucet body.

Have The Power

We drew inspiration from a construction detail that’s integral to building structures, the I-beam. The beauty of using an aspect of construction as a framework for the collection is that you don’t necessarily see the power one beam can have within a structure at first. Ayla, for instance, seems delicate at first glance, but when you interact with it, you realize there is a solid structure underneath.

The Softer Side of Steel

Ayla is made of stainless steel and has a satin finish. This choice of material not only reflects our desire for the collection to embody quality and durability but also aligns with CEA’s expertise in stainless steel, their signature material. The beveled edges are not only visually striking, adding a sense of comfort and functionality to the user experience.

Water Becomes the Client

One of the trickiest parts of designing the collection was understanding how the behavior of water would interact with the design. CEA’s technology provided us with insight into how we needed to take the physical qualities of water, including its velocity, into account for the design, which allowed an unusually thin horizontal spout to complete the wider vertical faucet body.
