Printemps

Haussmann

The story of Printemps is one of continual innovation and reinvention, beginning in 1865 when Jules and Augustine Jaluzot opened their Paris flagship, introducing a new way to experience beauty, fashion, and lifestyle.  As the first to set fixed prices and show case collections through window displays, it transformed how people engaged with retail. Its Art Nouveau influences remain visible in the grand glass dome and sweeping central stair. Today, the brand’s continued global growth calls for partners who honor its heritage while shaping spaces rooted in local relevance.

Spatial Experience

With a legacy of shaping global fashion brands, our partnership with Printemps grew from a shared belief in the power of spatial storytelling. Drawing from experience in mixed environments, we refined salon-style planning to create spatial movement that balances experience and adaptability. By arranging circulation around the central atrium, the design connects to the brand’s architectural legacy and provides a scalable model that adapts globally.

Ingenuity

Our ability to reimagine retail worlds and create inventive merchandise displays through the experimental use of materials and local craftsmanship continues to draw Printemps back to collaborate across multiple locations. Each project is rooted in place, shaping narrative, palettes, and details that connect the brand to its surroundings. Guided by an understanding of French refinement, we translate its Parisian essence through a regional lens. The result is a design language that feels distinctly Printemps.

what  we’ve made

Hussmann Renovation 2013

Spanning 107,000 square feet across three levels, the store’s vast footprint once left visitors overwhelmed and disengaged. We reintroduced the atrium, a hallmark of the brand’s history, by opening the center to create vertical connection and light. Inspired by a town square, or place centrale, crisscrossing escalators bring movement and energy through the space. A quiet palette of white, cream, gray, and black blends with clear glass, white marble, and blackened steel to form a timeless backdrop where merchandise adds color and layered character, while polycarbonate flowers suspended from the ceiling echo the brand’s Art Nouveau mosaic floor.

Le Printemps Installation 2016

Created for Paris Fashion Week, the ten-story installation reimagines the stained glass domes of the original Printemps store as a contemporary play of light. Made of petal-shaped panels in dichroic glass, the structure shifts in color and intensity as light filters through the atrium. Designed in partnership with UUFIE, it transforms the space into a living sculpture visible from every level, connecting the brand’s past and present through material and illumination.

Doha 2022

Spanning three floors and 40,000 square meters, Printemps Doha anchors the Doha Oasis complex as a contemporary interpretation of the brand’s Paris flagship. The design merges Parisian sensibility with the organic character of its surroundings. A neutral palette is balanced by bold gestures in light and form, while interactive elements introduce a quiet layer of technological exploration. The result is a spatial experience that connects heritage and modernity within a distinctly regional context.
