W Hotels

Boutique Style Luxury

Born in New York at the former Doral Inn, W Hotels was created by Barry Sternlicht of Starwood Hotels and Resorts to redefine what a hotel experience could be. The goal was to create a place that felt personal and alive with a New York mentality, where anything was possible. The design centered on a living room concept that encouraged gathering rather than routine. Launched in 1998, W Hotels introduced a new kind of lifestyle hotel that merged design, culture, and social energy into one experience.

Pushing The Limit

Our continuous pursuit of design innovation challenges our clients and keeps them coming back. From discovering innovative ways to boost room rates or utilize novel materials, to staying the course when technical challenges slow execution, these are just some of the factors that make our work complex and rewarding. This commitment to progress is what partners like W Hotels value most. Together, we are redefining the brand’s future while reflecting on its past, building a foundation for continued success.

To The Living Room

W Hotels partnered with us for our design approach and spatial thinking that transform spaces into immersive experiences. We build brands in four dimensions, reimagining traditional hotel models to create environments that move beyond walls, floors, and ceilings to shape how people feel and connect.  Each project delivers measurable results, expanding brand presence while maintaining a cohesive identity across locations.

what  we’ve made

Times Square New York 2001

Blurring the line between hospitality and nightlife, W Times Square introduced a new kind of energy to midtown New York. The entrance leads guests through a tunnel of water and light, shifting the pace from street noise to a calmer interior. Dramatic lighting and reflective surfaces create a dual environment that evokes a lounge atmosphere yet functions as a hotel. With 509 guest rooms, simple finishes, and an emphasis on sensory experience, the project redefined the urban luxury model.

South Beach 2010

W South Beach Resort introduces bold design ideas fused by an energetic architectural approach to create a fresh environment for personal expression. The spatial design centers on expansive open areas that embrace the movement, vitality, and tropical character of South Beach. Clean glass panels arranged in a geometric grid façade set the tone, while the crisp modern design reinterprets 1960s glamour.

Bali Seminyak 2011

Located on Bali’s Seminyak Beach, the hotel reflects W's vibrant character through a design that embraces the island’s tropical landscape. At its center, a rice field–inspired pool framed by lush greenery sets a relaxed rhythm that extends to dining pods woven from reeds and 289 guest rooms overlooking gardens of palms and hammocks. Natural textures and deep color tones evoke the jungle while maintaining balance and sophistication. Local influences appear in sculptural forms and geometric motifs that honor Balinese craft.

Guangzhou  2013

W Guangzhou sits within one of the densest districts of the city, where rapid development and shifting urban patterns helped shape a unique hotel and residential program. The property offers 317-guestrooms, full-service hotel, and 160 residential units on a compact urban block.  The guestrooms are clad in dark granite and glass, defined by slender vertical fins that break down spatial scale, while public areas such as the bar, restaurant, and spa are enclosed in transparent glazed boxes that create interaction with the surrounding neighborhood. Inspired by traditional Chinese watercolor paintings, our team collaborated with James Robert Art Consultant to create a series of unique lenticular artworks featured in the guestrooms.

Sanya Coming Soon

Charged with designing the interiors of the resort, the 260 guest rooms are designed to feature ocean views for almost half of the rooms. The design will embody the marriage of bold elements with the tropical charm of the region through detail driven aesthetics.
