A new destination in a historic neighborhood

Designed to sit alongside a landmark mid-century building, the interiors unfold as a dialogue between Japanese and Greek traditions, balancing structure and play, intimacy and energy.

Where seasonality meets Athens

The client sought to create an Athens outpost for Onuki that stayed true to Japanese craft and seasonality, while feeling distinctly Athenian. The dining experience needed to move naturally from the open kitchen to the terrace, with an upper level that could shift between gathering and privacy without losing the energy of the room below.

From open kitchen to open air

We framed the interiors around Japanese and Greek influences both past and present. The spatial layout prioritizes atmosphere and flow, using light, shadow, and material transitions to guide guests from arrival, to bar, to terrace, leading into quieter spaces above.

A narrative in color and craft

From warm persimmon tones at the bar to indigo accents that extend onto the terrace, every space is shaped with intention. Throughout the space moments of art and materiality create a layered narrative, from shoji-inspired panels to sculpted lighting in Aegean blue, inviting discovery at every turn.

Guided by Kizuna

Developed in collaboration with our interiors, lighting, and styling teams, the experience keeps guests connected from the open kitchen to the terrace and into flexible dining rooms above. “Kizuna” is the enduring bond between chef and guest, season and plate, tradition and the present moment.
