The Yacht Harbor Tower, an extension of the Ilikai Hotel from 1964 to 2006, served as an early testing ground for what would become the EDITION framework. Opening in 2010, The Waikiki EDITION established the foundation of an urban resort where art, dining, and leisure coexist. The design reflected a period defined by material restraint, favoring precision and ease over excess. With a clear vision and limited resources, it introduced a new approach to hospitality that balanced calm and connection, pairing modern simplicity with the natural beauty of Hawaii.

The London EDITION marked the brand’s European debut, conceived as an exercise in restraint and sophistication. The design blends historical grandeur with modern minimalism, shaping a space that feels both intimate and opulent. Located in Fitzrovia within a 19th-century Georgian building, the former Berners Hotel was transformed into The London EDITION, preserving its architectural character through ornate ceilings, wood-paneled walls, and a barrel-vaulted lobby. Contemporary furnishings, lighting, and color introduce a renewed energy that reflects the city’s continual evolution. More than a decade later, the design stands as a benchmark, recognized by Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Miami EDITION captures the spirit of the sixties, preserving details from the original 1950s Seville Beach Hotel while infusing a modern sensibility. Featuring a sun-washed palette, natural materials such as white oak and marble, and subtle Art Deco references, the interiors convey an effortless coastal sophistication that feels both exclusive and relaxed. The Miami EDITION demonstrates how design can reflect Miami’s energy with clarity and restraint.

How can a destination sit at the center of it all without feeling consumed by it? Amid the billboards and neon lights, The Times Square EDITION emerged as a rare blend of sanctuary and spectacle. The 42-floor hotel leans into a soft, neutral palette that balances contrast and calm. The design revisits the origins of the boutique hotel movement through an aesthetic that pairs worldly sensibility with New York ease. From the monochromatic lobby to the blond-wood paneling of each guest room, the interiors favor texture over ornament, while soft lighting and natural finishes create a residential calm that bridges the energy of Times Square with a quiet sense of retreat.

Saudi Arabia is entering a new era of openness, built upon a rich foundation of heritage. Drawing from our experience in emerging markets like China, we developed a design for the Jeddah EDITION that feels globally resonant yet locally rooted. Inspired by the fluid lines of a superyacht, the interiors pair warm neutrals, travertine flooring, and white oak paneling with sculptural furnishings that echo the desert and coastline. The result balances refinement and restraint, where natural light, curated art, and bespoke details create a calm, contemporary rhythm throughout.

Detroit’s ongoing renaissance offers an opportunity to evolve the EDITION concept and reimagine its spirit for Motor City. The project builds on the city’s creative momentum, translating its energy into a design that feels rooted yet elevated, industrial yet refined.
