Position & Purpose

Located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, AC DTLA anchors a dual-brand tower while maintaining its own brand identity. Designed for urban and business travelers, the hotel prioritizes spatial planning, operational efficiency, and a strong connection to the city’s creative scene.

Arrival Reframed

As guests arrive, mirror clad columns capture and refract DTLA's panoramic views, enhancing orientation and spatial flow. Check in offers self-service at a bespoke communal table, while softly illuminated wooden alcoves create a more personal arrival experience. Beyond, a sculptural metal pendant anchors the bar, with the terrace extending the experience outward.

Art as Dialogue

Designed as an artist’s studio, the interiors feature commissioned works by Dennis Lin. Hand carved wooden totems and wall sculptures establish a cohesive material language that guides movement and defines rhythm throughout the hotel.

Spanish Roots in an LA Context

With a terrazzo faced bar, black steel fireplace, and layered stucco surfaces, the interiors underscore the narrative while nodding to the city’s Spanish heritage and the brand’s DNA. Materials reference local craft through textured plaster, sun washed tones, exposed framing, terracotta ceiling panels, and charred wood.

Spaces that Shift

Public areas shift throughout the day as furniture resets and calibrated lighting guide how the space performs. The terrace brings hospitality outdoors with layered seating, steel fire pits, abundant planting, and a retractable canopy that moves between privacy and openness to balance retreat and social engagement.

“It feels like an artist's loft in LA. The scale is high, it is filled with sculptures, and it has a loft-like feel. Everything is a manifestation of mood and emotion. I think for us, that’s what makes up a successful place.”
