Laid Back

Known globally for their work in high-luxury hospitality and product design, George and Glenn’s Toronto residence reflects the modest character of their hometown. The quiet worker’s cottage exterior conceals a three-level home that descends gently into the ravine below.

Natural Balance

"Our home is a harmonious bond between nature and built environment. Nature remains a constant both in our work and in the way we choose to live our lives. It inspires, it rejuvenates, and it keeps us grounded."

- George Yabu

Eclecticism & Imperfection

Art, objects, and furniture have been selected by intuition rather than strategic intent, design or investment with a focus on unusual pieces that carry a story.

Hospitable Scale

The home provides a flexible setting for intimate entertaining. Its three floors can flow together as one for larger gatherings or be separated to accommodate smaller dinner parties. In this Tudor-style home, nothing feels industrial or oversized in scale.

The house begins as a small cottage and opens toward broad views of the valley. Each level offers a place to settle into the forested ravine, with large windows drawing the landscape inward and terraces that blur the relationship between inside and outside. The shifting seasons play out in full panorama, from the vibrant tones of summer to the muted hues of winter and fall, while the valley’s constant life—with glimpses of foxes, deer, and other wildlife—lend the home an almost enchanted quality.
