High Point

Opus Hong Kong marks Frank Gehry’s first residential project in Asia. The building, defined by its helical glass form, features full-floor residences with panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape.

Within this architectural feat, the interior design translates Gehry’s sculptural building into spaces of balance and contemporary refinement, outfitting two expansive show flats ranging from 6,000 to 9,000 square feet.

On Rotation

The irregular shape of the building meant our spatial plan needed to use unusual layouts to create spaces that made the most use of the unparalleled light and views. Semi-circular sofas face window walls while fully rotating screens at the spine of the space feature a chinoiserie landscape backdrop when closed but offering broadness of space when opened.

Crafted Integrity

Set on Hong Kong’s Peak, one of the city's most exclusive neighborhoods, the design focuses of craftmanship and materiality. Hand-knotted silk rugs, bronze, onyx, and wenge add layered richness; bespoke furnishings convey timeless artistry.

Drawing a Through Line

The awe-inspiring architecture and views create strong contrasts. We wanted the interiors to connect with the façade to form a cohesive story not a competing one. Elements like bronzed tree trunk tables connect the surreal metallic exterior to the natural and real environment beyond the space.

Yabu Pushelberg's newly unveiled show apartment in Swire Properties' Opus Hong Kong - designed by Frank Gehry - introduces a touch of high glamour in a city where most 'super-luxury' homes are conformist or flashy. Left to their own devices, the designers have created their own narrative: a second home for a stylish, wealthy Shanghainese couple who shop and entertain. 'We made the urban side more dramatic, but not too theatrical, while the private mountainside areas are more ethereal,' says George Yabu.
