Vertical hospitality

Set across the top 39 floors of the 108-story CTF Finance Centre, Rosewood Guangzhou stands as the world’s tallest five-star hotel and the brand’s second outpost in mainland China. Conceived as a Mansion in the Sky, the project defines a new narrative for vertical hospitality.

A Love Letter to the City

Located in the heart of Tianhe District, the hotel celebrates Guangzhou’s dual identity as a historic port and a rising metropolis. Through materiality, craft, and proportion, the design reimagines the city’s heritage.

Private Worlds Layered Above the City

Conceived as modern residences, the duplex suites balance introverted and extroverted spaces across two levels. Communal living zones open to a sculptural staircase leading to quiet and private second floor, emphasizing spatial planning, proportion, and light.

Art and Material as Narrative

Red lacquer doors, silk screens, hammered metal partitions, and carved wood ceilings express a dialogue between Chinese craft and contemporary form. In collaboration with Hanabi Art Advisory, the interiors feature a curated collection of artists, including Zhuang Hong Yi’s City of Flowers, integrating art as a form of wayfinding, discovery and identity throughout the hotel.

“Working on Rosewood Guangzhou gave us the chance to explore how a hotel can live inside a high rise and still feel personal. We shaped the interiors to balance the scale of the facade. The guest experience remains clearly grounded, guided by a clear narrative that marries Chinese heritage and contemporary life”.
